10 ways to increase Facebook interactions | Weboptim
Available from Facebook page, by optimised in line with our business, we have a following. Yet we do not receive comments, shares or likes on our posts. Why is this a problem?
Facebook's algorithm decides how long to display our posts in your followers' newsfeed based on the number of interactions. That's why we should aim to get as many reactions to our posts from users as possible, thereby getting our posts to as many people as possible.
With more than half of Facebook's 400 million active users logging in every day and spending an average of 55 minutes a day on the site - we can persuade our target audience to spend some time learning about our brand, products and services.
The secret is to create a fan page with the right mix of ingredients and make your followers feel like they are a vital part of your online community.
There are essentially two components to Facebook fan engagement:
1) sharing quality, relevant content
2) encourage comments
We show how important interactions (comments, likes, shares, @ tags) are for the success of a fan/business page.
Now that you have regular, quality and relevant content on your Facebook page, here are some ways to get your fans interacting with us:
#1. Ask a question
Try to ask a question at the end of your post. How do they like the article/new product etc.? What do they think? "Cool or embarrassing?" These and many similar questions will encourage our followers to write comments by making them feel that their opinion matters and they will be happy to share it with us. Instead of posting comments, we can also ask them to express their opinion in the form of a mood board, even a poll.
#2. Use salutations
Let's use frequent forms of address : "What do you think?" , "What do you think of xyz?" Phrase your posts as if you were addressing a specific person:
#3. Let's make it short
The easier it is for your followers to read your post, the more likely they are to respond to it, so keep your posts short and simple. For longer content, write a blog post and share it on your Facebook page with a short introduction and a thought about why it's worth reading for your followers.
#4. Timing of entry
It's worth posting during the period when users are most active. You can check the Facebook analytics page to see what hours your posts get the most reactions. If there is not enough post volume to examine this, it is usually best to post between 2-6 hours.
#5. Reply immediately
Let's do our best to respond to questions from our followers as quickly as possible.
#6. Addressing fans by name
Let's go back to a post and reply to their comments as often as possible.
The person whose post you are replying to can be @-tagged to receive a notification of your reply, or you can simply click the "reply" button at the bottom of the post.
#7. Write a post for yourself
If you do not interact with our post, we will post a comment ourselves to start the process. Do not do this too soon. Often, comments are more encouraged when users see that someone (even you) has already shared their opinion.
#8. Say thank you
Let's take every opportunity to thank our fans, whether it's for reaching a certain number of followers or entering a competition.
#9. Surprise our followers
From time to time, we should not be afraid to step outside our main theme and "surprise" our fans. In other words, content doesn't always have to be directly related to your product or service. We can share inspiring offers, ideas and add our own thoughts.
#10. Use @ labelling
We can tag other fan sites we are members of. If handled appropriately and used by a few, the @ tag can be an effective way to get your post to appear in other people's feeds, which will bring more fans or potential fans to your page.
The more interaction a post generates on our site, the longer it will appear in our followers' feeds. Consistently post quality, relevant content and engage with your fans. Over time, you will get results that lead to increased brand awareness, positive brand image and paying customers.
