Adwords Keyword Designer Restriction | Weboptim

Google Adwords recently announced an update to the Keyword Planner, which is intended to solve some problems for existing users. The good news is that the previous technique issues have been resolved.
However, not everyone is happy with the news of the update: Adwords accounts with low monthly spend will not have access to all data (as before).

The Adwords Keyword Planner tool provides only limited data for low-spending advertisers.

The main difference is in the 'average number of searches per month' column. In a limited view, the tool only shows a range of data instead of specific values.

For example, if there are 500 searches per month for a keyword, in the limited view this will be displayed as 100-1000 searches.

There will be several groups:

  • 0
  • 1-100
  • 100-1.000
  • 1.000-10.000
  • 100.000.-1.000.000
  • 1.000.000 +

In addition, some advertisers will be able to trigger the limited data view when they reach a certain search volume limit. However, Google has not yet specified what that limit is. Presumably we will have to spend more and add keywords from the Keyword Planner if we want to reach the limit.

Google did not provide further details on who counts as a low monthly spender advertiser.
It appears that most advertisers will continue to see search volume data, just as they have in the past.
Access to traffic forecast data remains unchanged.
